March Newsletter

March 14, 2025

Dear Parents, Staff, and Families of SAU 90,

We are pleased to share that during Tuesday’s town elections, Hampton voters passed all warrant articles related to the school district. We are deeply grateful for our community’s support and appreciate this positive affirmation of our schools, children, and staff. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with all stakeholders on behalf of our students. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting Hampton Academy students and staff. Today is also known as Pi Day, celebrating the mathematical constant π (pi), which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter—approximately 3.14. While the exact value of pi cannot be calculated, that has never stopped people from trying—including our students at Hampton Academy! Be sure to check out the district’s website for highlights from my visit, featuring our amazing Academy students and staff.

Next Friday marks the end of the second trimester. Report cards will be available on Monday, March 31, through the parent portal at 4 PM. If you need any assistance logging in or accessing ALMA, please contact our Data Specialist, Mr. Tim Smith, at 603-926-2000, ext. 723, or tsmith@sau90.org. Parents will also have the opportunity to meet with teachers and staff to discuss their child’s progress on Thursday, March 20. We look forward to these conversations and to partnering with families in supporting student growth. Please note that this will be an early release day for students.

Reminder: Cell Phone & Communication Device Policy

As a friendly reminder, cell phones, smartwatches, and other communication devices are not allowed in schools, as outlined in Policy JICJ and the Student and Family Handbook. The policy states:

"Student use of cell phones, camera phones, pagers, beepers, and other similar electronic communication devices is strictly prohibited during the school day. This includes lunch periods and passing periods, as well as school-sponsored trips. Such devices are not allowed in school."

Additionally, the Student and Family Handbook states:

"The Hampton School District recognizes that many students carry personal cell phones for safety reasons. Students are expected to turn off their cell phones and secure them in their lockers or backpacks during the school day. If a family member needs to contact their student during the school day, please contact the school’s main office rather than texting their cell phone."

We appreciate your cooperation in reinforcing this policy with your child.
