Fingerprinting and Background Check Process-

New Hampshire State Law (RSA 189:13-a) and the SAU 90 policy GBCD requires the completion of a background investigation, including a criminal history check and fingerprinting for all employees, volunteers, coaches, interns, substitutes, and contracted service employees.

Any school volunteer who may chaperone and/or participate in a school event, which may result in him/her independently monitoring students without the supervision of a Hampton School District staff member, is subject to a background check. This required procedure is offered at the SAU 90 office by appointment only. Upon completion of the criminal background check, Human Resources will contact the individual school who is documenting approved volunteers. Please note that the background check results can take approximately 4 weeks to receive from the State/FBI, so please plan accordingly.

SAU 90 continues to actively monitor updates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHDOE), and other SAUs in our region and throughout the state. As always, our priorities include the safety of our students, clear communication with parents, guardians and community members, and maintaining a sense of normalcy for our staff and students.
