Dear SAU 90 Staff and Families,
As Learn to Ski/Learn to Snowboard after school offerings came to an end last week, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent coordinators, parents, staff, and administrators for all their efforts in providing the oversight that allows us to continue these great programs. Although, Mother Nature, has not been very cooperative with our snowfall this year, we were still able to take advantage of those Friday afternoons on the slopes together with our school communities. As always, we are grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of these programs!
Last night, we hosted the first of our Parent Partner Series with the assistance of our Early Childhood Outreach Worker, Patrice Baker along with our Pupil Services Director, Dr. Lois DaSilva-Knapton. Families were able to enjoy some time discussing ways to help calm young children while engaging them in stories and play. Childcare was provided with the help of Winnacunnet High School Interact and Granite State Music. Families enjoyed dinner, courtesy of Nick’s Pizza, while learning about self-regulation skills and having time with their peers. Congratulations to everyone for our first successful event. If you have topics for a family event that the district could support, please be sure to reach out to me. Our goal is to partner with our families as we support the education of all students.
Attached to our newsletter is a copy of Gather Meals for Kids flyer. The aim of this organization is to provide fresh produce as well as other food for families in need. I have been asked to share this with all of you.
Next Tuesday evening, the PTA meets in the Community Room at Hampton Academy at 5 PM. During this time, our Business Administrator, Mariah Curtis and I will review the warrant articles that will be on the ballot on March 12. We are happy to answer questions you may have regarding our budget which includes a 3.09% increase over our default budget. If you have not seen our short cartoons narrated by our students Jack and Nathan, we encourage you to review them. We have also invited them to attend the meeting to share their work. We hope you can join us. As the PTA is hoping to recruit more volunteers, they have asked that I share the attached Google Form for your review. We kindly ask that parents and staff complete this form so they can plan accordingly. Thank you in advance.
Tomorrow, February 17 is Random Act of Kindness Day. As a district, we continually focus on respect and kindness every day – making kindness the norm at our schools. Please enjoy the lovely pictures posted on our Facebook showcasing our wonderful pictures of our Centre School where they showcase respect, caring, inclusiveness, integrity, responsibility, and courage. In closing, I ask that you always choose kindness and love every day. Together, we are Hampton Strong!
Kind regards,
Dr. Lois B. Costa
